Update...and rant!

Ok, this is a rant so look away now if you don't want to know!...
Work situation - STILL do not know if I have my job after the end of the month or not, have had formal notice of redundancy where was told that can have help getting new job as been there for over 2 years and that salary would be frozen for 3 years even if can only get a job that is two scales lower than one at present, oh good at least can afford to live for next 3 years! OH NO, today told that as on a fixed term contract that is not so, and apologies for only telling you today i.e. 6th March, so may have to live off less money to remain with council and good pension etc. etc.. FURIOUS! Want to beat cr*p out of someone in council who makes decision not to help those on fixed term contracts. I thought all this was illegal as have to treat all the same after been in same company for 2 years, anyone know if this is true or not? No wonder people work for the private sector!! Want to withdraw goodwill in getting lots done in last few weeks but am not really that sort of person, but may have to learn to be like that!!! So, may have financial worries when eventually move into new house, oh great!
House situation - STILL NOT exchanged contracts. Apparently we are holding chain up as not had searches back. Incompetent solicitors not chasing re searches and now nearly 3 weeks when can only take 3 days, know this as used to do them in planning admin. department! Next time I will do a personal search and then planning department HAS to stop and do them then and there, a good tip for all you house buyers out there?! Then will get a solicitor to check them over, however not the one we are currently using!!! Also, our estate agent in norwich not keeping us regularly updated and the vendor's estate agent keeping us more informed than the one we are paying, even though it is the same company!! However, may be exchanging contracts in two and a half weeks so moving about 3 and a half weeks, perhaps....
So, if am a little 'edgy' when you see me, this is why.
